Valentin Software is a sustainable energy planning software company. Previously developed Valentin software includes the PV*SOL® and T*SOL® for dynamic simulation, design, yield and financial analysis of photovoltaic and solar thermal systems.
GeoT*SOL basic 1.0 allows the simulation and design of classic heat pump systems, as well as heat pumps combined with solar thermal systems. The program comprises five essential system configurations that can be selected, including geothermal probes for tapping heat from the ground.
The annual coefficient of performance is calculated on the basis of a minute-step simulation of the whole heat pump system over the course of a year. As in all the programs from Valentin Software, global climate data sets are provided with GeoT*SOL basic.
System planning is carried out in single steps – from selecting the predefined systems to setting the requirements (heat, domestic hot water) and the design and dimensioning of the components (heat pump, heat source, storage tank, collector array) to the presentation of results, including a financial analysis.

Corresponding heat pumps from leading manufacturers can be selected from the component databases. Monthly coefficients of performance as well as the annual course for relevant temperatures, useful heat and electrical energy can be presented graphically.
GeoT*SOL basic is available in an English/German version. The program extends the solar thermal product line – internationally known via T*SOL® Pro and T*SOL® Expert – with software for geothermal.
Furthermore, with GeoT*SOL, users now have a useful additional tool providing planning support for heat pump system design, component dimensioning, annual energy yield calculation and in determining the efficiency and emissions reduction in comparison to conventional systems.
