AGL’s Hallett 2 opens

AGL’s Hallett 2 wind farm was officially opened earlier this month at Hallett Hill, west of the township of Mt Bryan in southeast South Australia.
Premier of South Australia Mike Rann officially opened the 71.4 MW wind farm that consists of 34 Suzlon S88-2.1 MW wind turbines.
The $159 million wind farm is expected to power the equivalent of approximately 40,000 average Australian homes.
AGL’s other renewable energy assets include the Hallett 1 wind farm (95 MW), the Bogong hydro power station (150 MW), and the Oaklands Hill (67 MW) and Hallett 4 (132 MW) wind farms, which are both under construction.
Wind farms at Barn Hill (130 MW), Hallett 3 (80 MW) and, in a joint venture with Meridian Energy, at Macarthur (approximately 330 MW) are currently under development, and construction on Hallett 5 at the Bluff Range in the mid-north of South Australia is soon to commence.
