The company’s hot water heat pump – the WWK300A – won the Environmental Product of the Year Award, sponsored by Conergy.

This award night recognises companies with products that are of benefit to the Queensland plumbing industry. Finalists in this category were asked to demonstrate how their products are environmentally conscious, can provide outstanding savings to customers and how consumers will benefit from the product’s excellence in design and innovation. The award also reflects outstanding performance in fulfilment, cost savings and other services that require installation and on-going maintenance requirements.

Stiebel Eltron won a similar style of award in 2009 representing the Western Australian Market for the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association Energy Saving Product Award.

The Stiebel Eltron WWK300A heat pump has seen a rapid growth in sales in Australia, being so successful that Germany has recently opened a $10 million manufacturing plant just to assist in further production.

Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland President Bob Kimlin said that the level of competition was tough.

“The Stiebel Eltron WWK 300A has a large tank capacity with the ability to use more water, more efficiently than competitors. The Stiebel unit has the highest co-efficiency of performance which is an indicator as to how efficient the heat pump is.”
